Myalgic Encephalomyelitis(ME)2018-10-05T13:13:05+00:00

The term ME is not universally recognised or used worldwide and most areas now refer to cases as having Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. ME as a term is only partly correct. The ‘Mylagic’ purely means painful muscles and as most sufferers of ME will know this can be extreme. The ‘Encephalomyelitis’ however suggests inflammation of the brain and studies fail to prove this in ME cases.

A lot of research into ME looks for viral causes for it. Some of the most commonly suggested causes are that ME is due to an unknown virus, Borrelia or Lyme’s Disease, Epstein Barr infection (Glandular Fever), adrenal ‘burnout’ or Candida.

Mickel Therapy has consistently successfully treated many cases of ME who were given the above as causes. This suggests that much of the research being undertaken is focussed on symptoms rather than their cause.

Mickel Therapy believes strongly that the above suggested conditions are not the cause and if they do exist then they are merely effects of a key gland, the Hypothalamus, being overactive. Mickel Therapy therefore gives clients the tools to correct this dysfunction by understanding the symptoms and being able to allow the body to stop sending them.

Lucy's recovery from CFSIf someone had told me even 6 months ago that this is where I would be now, I wouldn’t have believed them.

“Saul has been an integral part of my recovery from a disease that we are all told is incurable.”
